Sponsors!

Team Organic,

Just like money from home, our sponsors are giving us their support. The following businesses have already given us checks and I want to acknowledge them. The company that is making our jerseys is giving up 10% off our cost to be on the jersey. This is a hugh savings for us and very generous of Mt. Borah in Coon Valley, WI.

1. Cashton Farm Supply in Cashton,WI. was our first business to cut us a check.
2. Smith's Cycling & Fitness in LaCrosse, WI.
3. People's Food Coop in LaCrosse, WI.
4. MOSA (a certifing body for organic farms) in Viroqua, WI.
5. WCCU ( our bank & credit union) in Westby, WI.

Please thank these businesses and patronize them for their support of our team if you get the opportunity.

We have 15 people that have told me that they want to be on our team. I am taking them on their word, then come January of 2012 I will be asking for a $200.00 non refundable comittment to the team. We will be renting a RV and a trailor to do this ride and the total cost have not been figured at this time but as we get closer we will know more. $100.00 of this cost will be your wrist band that makes you an offical rider of RAGBRI and gives you discounts along the ride. The other $100 will go toward the RV and gas. Again remember we will be provided some food from Horizon Organic plus I am in contact with Organic Valley, who have also expressed interest in supporting us.

We are rolling now

In the short amount of time that I decided to form team organic we have monies in the bank, and ten members of a 35 member team. WOW is that exciting out what??? I will not be asking for any monies until after the first of the year as by then I will have a better idea on all our sponsors for the jersey. I will still be asking for sponsorship at the MOSA conference this spring in LaCrosse as their are a ton of companies that are promoting their organic products and services at that event so hang onto your hat this is going to be one kick ass team. The next big deal to seal will be do we rent a bus or RV??? Transporting 35 people, gear and bikes takes a little planning. Having about 8 Ragbri's behind me gives me some experience but I am always open to ideas. Irwin

Team-Organic

Team Organic, As you can see my assistant Charlene Shattuck and I are discussing the up coming bike ride across Iowa called Ragbri. As of today July 20th, 2011 we have our own checking account with the first sponsor Cashton Farm Supply's $120.00 in it minus the cost of the checks, around $16.95. I am selling spots on our jersey for $120.00 that will cover the cost of the jersey plus give us some additional monies to fund our ride. Horizon Organic a division of White wave foods out of Colorado has offered to give us organic food for the entire 7 day ride. Mt. Borah the makers of our jersey will take 10% off the total cost of the jersey to be on the front of it. I have verbal commitments from 3 or 4 other company's that want on the jersey so I believe we are off  to a good start. Ragbri 2011 will be starting in a few days and you can go on their web site to see what is all about. Our goal is to have 30 riders and 5 crew members. We will deal with our cost as we develop the team but to give you an ideal your wrist band will be around $100.00's and then the cost of transportation depending on what we come up with. If all goes as planned our jersey's should be paid for and we will have food for our team and crew. I will need to know the last five letters of your jersey as they will all start with Org._ _ _ _ _. Mine will read Org.nizer be creative and have fun with this part of the team. Let's make this the bike team that everyone is talking about on Ragbri 2012, it's 40th year! Irwin
